Make Money Work – Financial Literacy workshops for Year 9 students

On Wednesday 25 October and Wednesday 1 November, Mr Shadab Safa from Talk Money (Ecstra Foundation) visited Casey Grammar School. The ‘Make Money Work’ sessions supported students to better understand the world of work, particularly from a financial literacy perspective.

Over the 2 weeks, our students learnt about their rights at work, superannuation and tax, rates of pay and workplace health and safety. These engaging sessions complimented the work our Year 9 students have undertaken in the Casey Challenge program.

‘I really appreciated the opportunity to learn about tax and superannuation. I can see how this information will help me in the future.’ Anubhav (Bhav) C, Booth, Year 9
