Winter Concert
Our Year 3 students are buzzing with excitement as they prepare to showcase the skills they’ve been developing on their string instruments at the upcoming Winter Concert on Thursday, 26 June. We’re so proud of the progress they’ve made and we can’t wait for families to see what they’ve been working on.
Feel free to scan the QR code included in this newsletter for a sneak peek at one of the pieces the students will be performing.
Tickets are free and available here.
Here are some thoughts from our young musicians:
“I like practising my string instrument because you get better at it when you practise. I like Miss Sun because she tells us kindly what to do.”
– Harkeshwar K, 3S Reid
“I like playing the viola because it’s fun playing different songs. I’m feeling excited and a little bit nervous about the concert, but it should be amazing.”
– Sonny P, 3B Booth

We’re all looking forward to a joyful and musical evening!

Year 10 Drama Production and Year 11 Drama
On Thursday, 29 May, the Year 10 Drama class presented their annual production – and this year marked a special milestone: the 20th Year 10 Drama Production!
Titled Movie Night, the performance was filled with laughter, strong characterisation and sharp comedic timing. The students performed brilliantly and should be congratulated on their energy, teamwork and courage.
On the same evening, our Year 11 Drama class shared their Unit 1 Ensemble pieces based on film adaptations. These student-devised performances drew on a variety of theatre styles, and the creativity and commitment on display were outstanding.
Bravo to both groups for a fantastic night of theatre!

Classroom Music Concert
Congratulations to all performers in Year 9 Music, VCE Music Unit 1, and VCE Music Unit 3 for their fabulous performances at the Classroom Music Concert, held in the Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, 4 June.
The night opened with the Year 9 Music class performing No Tears Left to Cry and Breakin’ Dishes by Rihanna. This was their first big performance opportunity and they rose to the occasion with enthusiasm and confidence.
Next, the VCE Music Unit 3 students performed one solo each from their exam repertoire:
- Christian – The Long and Winding Road by The Beatles
- Allysha – Spiral Lament by Ian Clarke
- Avery – Silly Girl by Chloe Moriondo
- Ela – Haru No Umi by Michio Miyagi
- Kirra – Gravity by Sara Bareilles
- Isabella – Almost Is Never Enough by Ariana Grande
Each of these Year 12 students performed beautifully and we wish them all the best as they move into the final stage of their VCE Music journey and prepare for their end-of-year Performance Exam.
The VCE Music Unit 1 class then took the stage, performing four group pieces:
- Bad Romance by Lady Gaga
- Supermodel by Måneskin
- Die with a Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars
- Can’t Stop by Red Hot Chili Peppers
The concert concluded with a combined performance from the Year 11 and 12 students, who presented the Panic! At The Disco version of Into the Unknown from the Frozen 2 soundtrack.
Special thanks to Mr Shane Evans for stage managing and MCing the event and to Dr Robert Jacob for his assistance on the evening.
Well done to all performers - you did a fantastic job!
