Donation Delivery to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
"This is an incredible donation. The families are going to be so excited! We haven’t had honey in weeks and we can’t afford to buy deodorant for people at the moment. Thank you so much.”
– Kate, Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
During Harmony Week our community generously contributed gold coin donations to support the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. With that support we recently went shopping for a wide range of essential items – from spreads and toiletries to jars of tahini and turmeric – and delivered them directly to the centre.
Being there in person was deeply moving. Seeing the trolley filled with donations and realising how each item would make a difference to someone’s day was incredibly humbling.
One woman who had once relied on the food bank and is now employed through the centre’s cleaning business met us with tears in her eyes to say thank you. Her story reminded us how much we often take for granted and how powerful simple acts of generosity can be.
A heartfelt thank you to our Junior School Social Justice Captains Khloe and Sahej along with their families and Ms O’Driscoll who joined me on the visit. Let us never forget how fortunate we are and how much we have to be thankful for.

Helping Mothers on the Other Side of the World
Over recent weeks, students in Year 9 and Year 11 have been assembling birthing kits in support of the Birthing Kit Foundation (https://www.bkfa.org.au/). Each small kit includes gloves, string, gauze, a plastic sheet, a scalpel and soap – items that can help create safer birth conditions for women in remote or resource-limited areas.
It was humbling to reflect on the contrast between birthing experiences in Australia and those these kits will support. Thank you to all students who gave their time and care to make a difference in the lives of the mothers.

Year 2 Chapel Services – a warm invitation
Families of our Year 2 students are warmly invited to attend our upcoming Chapel services. This is a family-friendly event, and grandparents, siblings, and special friends are all welcome.
The service theme is the Fruits of the Spirit – a reflection on the gifts of “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22–23) that God can give us. It’s a timely and meaningful message we look forward to sharing with you.
Every blessing to each of you in the week ahead,
Monique Riviere-Pendle
