A Busy and Exciting Term for Career Education
Term 2 has been incredibly busy from a career education perspective – and what an exciting time it has been!
From the Subject Selection Expo to National Careers Week, our students have been encouraged to engage meaningfully in conversations and research around their future pathways. It's been fantastic to see them asking questions, exploring possibilities and starting to think about where their learning might lead.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with all of our Year 10 students for one-on-one appointments to discuss their 2026/2027 VCE programs and their tentative post-Casey Grammar School plans.
These conversations have been a highlight of the term, not only because they’re such an important step in the subject selection process, but also because they’ve given me a chance to better understand each student and how we can best support their aspirations.
Of course, meaningful career discussions don’t just happen at school – they happen at home too. Parents and guardians play a key role in shaping how young people view work, learning and the future. If you’re looking for a great tool to help support those conversations, I highly recommend the Career Conversation Menu, developed by Arrive and Thrive.
