Alumni Panels

Last week we were joined by 2021 and 2022 Casey Grammar alumni, who came to our weekly VCE meeting/s to participate on 2 panels.

In Session 1 (15 March) – our VCE students had the opportunity to hear from high achieving students, who provided practical tips and strategies to enhance VCE success. In Session 2, we focussed on ‘Where are they now’, and our Year 11 and Year 12 students were able to learn about the many different pathways that exist on completion of their studies at CGS.

Both sessions were engaging and informative. How lucky we are to have former students who are willing to give up their time to support our current students!

Big thanks to: Alastair, Rachel, Layla, Bridie, Joel, Liam, Caitlyn, Keshia, Dash

Subject Selection Expo 2023 – Save the Date

On Tuesday 16 May 2023 (5:30 pm – 8:00 pm), Casey Grammar School will be holding a Subject Selection Expo. The purpose of the Subject Selection Fair is to support Casey Grammar School students to make informed subject selection decisions; decisions that align with their strengths, values, interests, and career/tertiary aspirations.

The Expo will provide CGS parents and guardians the opportunity to meet with Department Heads and similarly, teaching and careers staff to enhance their understanding of subject/program options in Year 9, Year 10 and VCE and the labour market their children are transitioning into.

Further information will be provided in Term 2, however I would encourage you to ‘save the date’ of this important event.

Careers and Pathways Week

This week is a huge one for our Year 10 students.

At Casey Grammar School, we offer our Year 10 students the opportunity to conduct meaningful research into future career pathways by visiting tertiary providers and participating in a range of activities that aim to develop our student’s enterprise skills in preparation for 2024 and beyond. The program similarly compliments the work our Year 10 students are doing in Career Discovery Program (CDP) subject (a semester long subject).

We look forward to sharing more information about the program with you in the next Newsletter.

Alumni Tutoring Program

We are pleased to launch the Casey Grammar School Alumni Tutoring Program.

The Alumni Tutoring Program has been designed to support our current students to achieve their academic best. High-achieving CGS alumni have been identified and offered the opportunity to be included on a tutor database.

How it works:

  • Students and parents/guardians who are interested in securing a tutor will notify CGS who will provide them the contact detail/s of suitable alumni.
  • Students and parents/guardians will liaise independently with the tutor to coordinate suitable arrangements for the tutoring (i.e., time, location, hourly rate).
  • All Tutor requests must be sent to: t.program@caseygrammar.vic.edu.au.

Please note: Tutors make their own agreement with Casey Grammar School families. This includes the tutoring fee they will charge and where and when the tutoring will be conducted. Tutoring cannot be conducted at Casey Grammar School. All Tutors have a current Working with Children Check.

We are excited to offer our current students the opportunity to be supported by our previous students, who have demonstrated excellence in one or more subjects. Any questions regarding the program should be directed to t.program@caseygrammar.vic.edu.au.
