It has been an exciting and rewarding end to the 2022 school year.

Senior School students have spent a week in their new classes, meeting new teachers and beginning coursework in preparation for all that lies ahead in 2023. This week of Early Commencement has been a fantastic way to get a taste of what students can expect when school returns on 30 January.

It has been equally exciting to welcome new students to Casey Grammar, and heart-warming to see the way in which they have been welcomed by their peers during this period of transition.

For those leaving the school, we wish you well in your journey ahead and thank you for your contributions throughout your time at Casey Grammar.

Awards Evenings

On Monday 28 December, Casey Grammar hosted a Sports Awards Evening, where students were recognised for their contribution to the SIS Sport Competition.

The special guest speaker was five-time Olympic basketballer, Andrew Gaze AM. The audience was inspired and entertained by his personal anecdotes and encouragement of our students.

Kwong Lee Dow Scholarship

I am very pleased to announce that Jay (Year 10) has been accepted into the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program at the University of Melbourne.

This program is an academic enrichment program designed to support high achieving Victorian Year 11 and Year 12 students, providing them with an opportunity to experience university life and take part in a range of academic and personal development events and activities.

Jay has been identified as a student who is likely to succeed and do well at university. He displays qualities of leadership, engagement and involvement and is a very worthy recipient. Congratulations Jay!

VCE Special Provisions 2023

Casey Grammar follows the VCAA recommendation of initiating and supporting the Special Provisions that are likely to be approved, or have been approved, by VCAA for all school-based assessments. We will do this for VCE Units 1 to 4 for school-based assessments, and for Units 3 and 4 for external examinations and the GAT.

If you think you might be eligible for Special Provisions, please read the VCAA website:
https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/administration/special-provision/Pages/SpecialProvisionVCEandVCAL.aspx

It is very important to note that, even if you completed this process for 2022, you need to make a new application for 2023.

Happy Holidays!

I take this opportunity to wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a refreshing holiday. Best wishes for the New Year!
