As our third term draws to a close, I am thrilled to reflect on the fact that all our learning has been onsite this year. Thankfully this is hugely different to the previous two years. It has been wonderful to see our school returning to our new Covid ‘normal’ and that many of our events are now filling up our calendar once more.

Recently we were entertained by the wonderful students of 4H who hosted an assembly. Their assembly showcased their many talents while celebrating Father’s Day and all our incredible dads, grandfathers and significant others in our CGS community.

Our students shone on the big stage and thoroughly enjoyed the experience after two long years without any performances. We were also fortunate to attend 6M’s assembly which focused on our Australian Indigenous history. The dancing, singing, costumes, clapstick and digeridoo playing were all highlights for me. A massive congratulations to both Miss Hore and Ms Mepstead and their students for ensuring we were so wonderfully entertained.

Many excursions and incursions have also taken place over the past few weeks. These have included our Year 2 Scienceworks excursion, our Year 6 Imax and Parliament House excursion, our Year 1 Hands on Science incursion and today’s Year 4 Museum and Imax excursion. Sincere thanks to our teachers for organising these fabulous learning opportunities for our students.

Wishing our athletes who are attending Divisional Aths tomorrow all the very best and hoping our youngest students, those in Foundation, enjoy their Fairytales incursion tomorrow.

Finally I’d like to wish Mrs Kyne, our main cast and all our Year 3-6 students, every success for our Junior School production, ‘Starwarts – The Umpire Strikes Back’ over the next two nights. Our F-2 students enjoyed the opportunity to watch our sneak peek during a full dress rehearsal performance on September 9th

So now it’s on with the show….

Keep safe and well

Jump Rope for Heart Kicks Off This Term!

Jump Rope for Heart is the Heart Foundation’s skipping challenge that helps kids move more, have fun and raise funds for lifesaving research and programs.

Register your child online at www.jumprope.org.au/parents so they can receive the full benefits of the program and participate in online fundraising. Fundraising is, of course, optional, and students who fundraise have the opportunity to earn prizes for their efforts.

See the fundraising prize poster here https://d107y4pid711nd.cloudfront.net/309680b6e151b93939376699f7fb198c.pdf

Students will be skipping at school during PE lessons and optionally during recess and lunch breaks over the coming weeks. During this time, you can share their online fundraising page with family and friends to help raise money for this great cause.

We will hold our school Jump Off Day early in Term 4, which will mark the end of

the program and is a chance for everyone to come together to skip and show off their
newly learned skills.

The students of Casey Grammar Junior School have so far raised $4,471 for this fantastic cause! This is an exceptional achievement as we have not long launched the program!

Our top 5 fundraising students are:

Sophie T – 4N: $985

Vincent G – 2G: $360

Jaxon B – 2G: $296

Charlie S – 4B: $289

Xander O – 4B: $259

Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program in 2022!

ISV Poetry Competition

Averia M in 5K has been awarded an Honourable Mention for her poem in the Independent Schools Victory (ISV) Poetry competition.

Earlier this year, many students entered the competition, with some awarded prizes for our ‘In House’ poetry competition.

However, Averia is the only student from Casey Grammar to receive an honourable mention in the ISV competition. A big congratulations to Averia, well done!

Averia’s poem was about her friend Annalise, who sadly passed away last year.

You Are Always With Me

You are always with me,

Even though you are gone,

You have a place in my heart,

Thank you for being a part of my life.

You always will be loved,

You are always with me,

Thank you for lighting up my life,

And adding a big smile to it.

You were the greatest friend I’ve ever had,

You are always with me,

And a great Roblox partner,

I just want to say thank you for the time we had.
