Commemorating Annalise

On Monday, students in Year 5 honoured and remembered a very dear friend and peer who sadly passed away last year; Annalise Roy.

A service in memory of Annalise was held in the Chapel and was attended by Annalise’s classmates, staff and her family.

A number of Annalise’s class shared prayers and readings, and the Show Choir performed a very moving song with lyrics that Annalise had written herself.

The students presented the Roy family with a book of memories of Annalise’s time at Casey Grammar, then staff, students and family concluded the Service by lighting blue tapers in her memory and honour.

Following the service, students worked together on a mosaic mural which, once complete, will be displayed in Annalise’s garden beside the Chapel.

The thoughtfulness and support our students showed to one another was truly precious as they reflected and remembered their special friend.

We are forever thankful for the blessing that Annalise was to this School community, and thankful to Mr and Mrs Roy and Brendon for sharing this day with us, and for giving the Year 5 students special blueberry cow biscuits to remember and cherish their daughter.

A copy of the memory book is available for students to look at and read in the Chapel. For students wanting to take time to look at it, they can do so via their classroom teacher or myself.

Blessings,
