Winter Concert
On the evening of 26 June, a packed house gathered to enjoy Casey Grammar School’s annual Winter Concert. It was an uplifting celebration of music, featuring performances from our Ensemble Program and Junior School Instrumental Program, including students from Years 3, 5 and 6.
The evening marked the culmination of six months of focused rehearsal, preparation and teamwork. It was a joy to witness the musical growth of our students, whose polished performances reflected both their talent and dedication.
This year’s concert was a true highlight on the school calendar, showcasing the depth of our music program and the enthusiasm of our young performers. Whether it was their first or final Winter Concert, every student took to the stage with confidence and gave their very best.
Congratulations to all involved for delivering such a memorable and inspiring evening of entertainment.

An event of this magnitude and success doesn’t happen without a lot of work from a lot of people. A big thanks to:
- All of the teachers and staff who came in support of our students, and particularly those teachers from Year 3 who assisted their classes to take the stage for their performances
- Everyone who assisted on the night with student management and ushering our audience
- Our hard-working Stage and Tech crew: Ben Peake, Danielle Searles, Simon Hall, Agam B, Arav P
- Jeff Morgan for his support of the event
- Our fabulous MCs: Avani, Natalie and Kirra
- Our wonderful Instrumental Teaching Staff who led ensembles and worked with our young musicians to prepare their performances: Isaac Moran, Hailey Senn, Tilarni Senn, Chris Limpah, Lachlan Wallace, Kelsy De Prada, Luke Dema and Simone Sun
- My fellow Senior School Performing Arts Teachers: Robert Jacob, Ben Peake and Shane Evans
- Our amazing and wonderful Bronwyn Kyne for her hard work across the performances, backstage and side of stage, and for her vision in setting up our finale item
- Our amazing and wonderful Performing Arts Administrator, Antoinette Seal, who worked tirelessly in managing all of the working parts that come together to make a great performance.

While I thoroughly enjoyed each of the performances from the concert, undoubtedly my favourite moment was the finale performance of Viva La Vida by Coldplay, featuring the combined talents of all 170 of our performing musicians.
It was a mighty sound that was made, but the part I enjoyed most was the sea of smiling faces all enjoying their shared experience of making music together.
I hope that each of our young musicians will fondly remember that very special moment.
