What a Week!
Last week we celebrated National Careers Week at Casey Grammar School.
National Careers Week is an initiative of the Career Industry Council of Australia. It aims to celebrate careers, career development, career development services and career development practitioners, as well as promoting career development’s economic, social and personal benefits.
Career development is a process of managing learning, work and leisure to progress through life. It includes gaining and using the skills and knowledge needed to plan and make informed decisions about education, training and work. Everyday decisions and priorities affect career development.
Ultimately, career development is about much more than jobs — it is about how to live your life.
On Tuesday, we held the annual Subject Selection Expo. This event was attended by over 300 students, parents and guardians. It was a terrific night, and we are so grateful for the commitment demonstrated by the CGS community.
On Thursday, all Year 12s attended the Victorian Career Show at the Melbourne Showgrounds. The purpose of this excursion was to provide meaningful opportunities for our Year 12 cohort to explore 2026 pathway options. Our students did themselves proud. It was lovely to watch them engage professionally with various exhibitors, asking meaningful questions to support informed decision making for next year.
Finally, on Friday we celebrated the end of the week with the Careers Dress Up Day. Students across the Senior and Junior Schools dressed up in costumes that reflected possible career pathways.

How wonderful it was to see our Junior and Senior students dressed in their amazing costumes. A big thank you to everyone who engaged in the day.
