Useful Industry focused resources – The Australian Centre for Career Education

The Australian Centre for Career Education works in collaboration with Industries to create resources for students to learn and develop knowledge about real industries.

Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to access these resources to enhance their understanding of various career pathways. The resources have been developed by Industry Experts; who better to hear about the pros and cons of a variety of career pathways?

What is the UCAT?

UCAT stands for University Clinical Aptitude Test. UCAT is one of three main criteria used by most universities in Australia and New Zealand to select students into high demand health related careers such as medicine and dentistry (the other two criteria being performance in final high school exams and interviews).

For a detailed list of which courses require the UCAT, please refer to this link.

NOTE: You will complete the UCAT in Year 12 (in preparation for tertiary study the following year). That said – I would encourage interested Year 11 students to start their preparation now.

Preparation

In preparation for the UCAT (2023 or 2024), I would encourage you to consider engaging with the following programs/resources. Some of these will update in the next month, but I think it is important that you familiarise yourselves with what is available to support you.

I will continue to update you on any further information regarding UCAT preparation. Remember: bookings for the UCAT 2023 open on the 1 March 2023.
