Welcome to Term 3.  The school was abuzz with lots of activity over the break!

Congratulations Juna!

I wish to congratulate Casey Grammar’s Juna Gemmell, who has been honoured with a Premier’s VCE Award after scoring a perfect 50 in Outdoor and Environmental Studies during Year 11 in 2021.

The Premier’s VCE Awards recognise the outstanding results of individual students and pays tribute to the principals, teachers and families who play a valuable role in supporting these students during their VCE studies.

This is exciting news, and very well deserved after all the hard work Juna put in to her studies.  A big thanks also goes to Mr Anthony Brown - Juna's subject teacher.

Buildings and Grounds

Over the holidays the Prep building (fondly called The Reggio) was demolished. The new building will be erected over the coming months and will be ready for the Foundation Class of 2023 to commence their schooling.  Click here for a progress video.

Ski Trip

In the last week of the school holidays, a group of VCE students and staff enjoyed a week on the slopes during their annual school ski trip. The students learned some new skiing and snowboarding skills and while there were a few aches and pains by the end of the week, a great time was had by all.

I am grateful to the staff who organised this wonderful learning opportunity and who accompanied the students – Mrs Kate Morgan, Mr Anthony Brown, Mr Chris Bucknell and Ms Tamika Doyle.

Staff Update

Over the holidays, we were excited to welcome Lucy Alice Christensen, daughter to Mrs Beatriz Christensen and Alice Artemis Evans, daughter to Mr Shane Evans. The babies and their parents are doing well and we look forward to meeting them soon.

This term we also welcomed the following staff:

  • Ms Jacqui O’Mara – Library technician
  • Marie Josee Mill – French teacher
  • Mrs Lorinda Eden – Humanities and RE teacher
  • Mr Peter Young – who has returned from Long Service Leave

In other news, our School Psychologist, Mr Alan Clarke, has informed me of his intention to retire at the end of 2022. Alan is a long-standing member of staff who has provided outstanding service to the students and families of Casey Grammar over many years.

We will celebrate Mr Clarke’s contributions to the school in Term 4 and wish him well as he moves into retirement.

Parents and Friends Committee

Casey Grammar School has a small but very active Parents and Friends Committee who provide valuable services to the school community. Some of their regular activities include:

  • Mother’s Day stall
  • Mother’s Day morning tea
  • Father’s Day stall
  • Father’s Day Breakfast
  • Sausage sizzles at sports carnivals
  • Running the secondhand uniform shop
  • Secondhand book sale.
