Celebrating People, Culture and Community
We hope all students and families had a restful break.
This term, Melissa Roberton is on long service leave. In her absence, I am delighted to be stepping in as Acting Head of Junior School, working closely with Bridgette Reale as Acting Head of Junior School Teaching and Learning.
We are thrilled to congratulate Melissa Roberton and Shane Bell, who have been recognised as two of the Most Influential Teachers in Australia for 2025. This is a truly outstanding achievement that reflects their dedication and impact in education.
A warm welcome back to Tatum Sakeson and Maria Ramos-Chan, who have returned from maternity leave. It’s wonderful to have them both back in our school community.
Our term began with a Welcome Assembly, where we celebrated our school values with the presentation of our Values Awards. We were also honoured to hold a Smoking Ceremony, connecting our community to Country and showing respect for Aboriginal culture and traditions as we recognised NAIDOC Week, which occurred during the holiday period.

We’re collecting toiletry items over the next couple of weeks to be included in backpacks for children in need. These items help provide comfort, dignity, and care during difficult times. Year 6 Inquiry: States of Matter
This term, our Year 6 students are exploring the states of matter as part of their Inquiry unit. 6BNI began their investigations with a hands-on experiment creating and testing ‘Oobleck’. Students observed and tested its unique properties, using their findings to develop clear definitions for each of the main states of matter. With Science Week just around the corner, the Year 6 students are especially looking forward to even more exciting opportunities to investigate, discover, and think like real scientists!
