A Wonderful Start to the Year

On January 14, our 2021 graduates anxiously waited for offers from universities and TAFES. I was similarly anxious to find out what wonderful pathways our students would be pursuing although, based on the amazing ATAR results they achieved, I was quietly confident!

I am thrilled to announce that 100 per cent of our students who applied for a tertiary course received an offer in the first round. What an amazing outcome!

I was lucky enough to be able to speak with many Year 12s and to congratulate them on their achievements. Their overwhelming emotion was relief. I reiterated the school’s pride in their achievements during a very challenging couple of years. Whether pursuing university, TAFE, employment or apprenticeships and traineeships, it was my pleasure to support this cohort and I am incredibly proud of them all.

Over the next few weeks, I will share some of our students’ wonderful outcomes, beginning with Tea Ayling’s 2022 pathway.

Tea’s Destination in 2022

Tea successfully applied for an early entry offer through ACU (ACU Guarantee). Entry was based on Tea’s Year 11 results. With this early offer, she entered the stressful examination period, confident in the knowledge she had an offer to begin studying at ACU in 2022.

Subjects completed (VCE): English, Further Maths, Health and Human Development, Dance (external), Product Design and Technology and Visual Communication and Design.

2022 destination: Bachelor of Nursing (ACU, Ballarat).

What made you choose this pathway? I have always wanted to be a nurse. Throughout my VCE, I worked towards this goal and selected subjects that I enjoyed but that also met pre-requisite requirements. I also knew that I wanted to move to a regional town and was excited to learn that ACU had a Ballarat campus.

What are you most excited about as you make the transition from CGS to further study? I attended Casey Grammar School for 13 years! Although the ACU Ballarat campus is small, I am excited to branch out and make new friends.

Any final words of wisdom for the Senior School community? Try not to worry. Don’t focus on the score— focus on doing your best!

Congratulations, Tea, and all the best!
