Junior School Commissioning Service

After a week’s delay, we were able to celebrate our Junior School Commissioning Service, where we commissioned our Junior School Leaders and Year 6 students. What a joy it was to welcome the parents and carers of our leaders to the PAC, and to gather Years 4-6 students together for the first time this year.

It is an exciting time as we get into the year and begin to plan various activities that our leaders can be involved in. However, the overwhelming message was that all our Year 6 students have an important part to play in leading our Junior School and we look forward to witnessing the way they do this throughout 2021.

Particular thanks to the PFC for its assistance with Morning Teas at both the Junior School and Senior School Commissioning Services.

Harmony Week is Coming!

Plans are already underway for Harmony Week across Casey Grammar. This annual celebration of diversity in our School is something that we all excitedly anticipate. Students in Senior School are already practicing performances and we are preparing for our special order lunches.

Please look out for a letter that will outline Harmony Week events across the School, which will be distributed in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, please note that our Harmony Week Cultural Clothing Day will be held on Tuesday, 23 March. So, have a look at home to think about what your child may like to wear. Students are also welcome to wear orange as part of the celebrations.

Social Justice Group is Back

Students from Years 7-12 have returned to Social Justice Group and we are excitedly planning events and opportunities for them, ably led by our Social Justice and Community Captain, Ellen Streat.

Social Justice Group has a key role in planning Harmony Week, but we are also looking forward to an excursion in the school holidays to Backpacks 4 Vic Kids. If your Senior School student is interested in participating in a group that is involved in community events and volunteering, please encourage them to get involved.

It’s a great chance for students across various year levels to come together for a wide range of wonderful causes. As a school with Christian foundations, this is an important element of how our community applies the values and teachings of Jesus in a practical sense.

Every blessing in the weeks ahead.
