Positive Approach Underlines Resilience

Welcome to week 4. It was lovely greeting our students as they returned to school on Thursday after the three days of remote learning. Our students have become very resilient and adaptable. I am so proud of our students and staff. All demonstrated positive attitudes when these sudden changes were imposed on them.

Unfortunately, we had to reschedule the Year 7 camp, we will provide the new dates once they have been confirmed. Junior School Parent information night was also cancelled and will now be delivered virtually. The Year 8 camp has gone ahead this week as planned.

Easing Congestion in the Car Park

Since the start of the year, we have employed a number of strategies to try to ease the congestion coming out of the PAC car park each morning and afternoon. My observations are that the traffic is flowing much more smoothly now. However, there are still periods of congestion which simply cannot be avoided.

Please continue to show patience and respect in the car park, particularly towards the children who are pedestrians. Safety is our number one priority and sometimes waiting a few more minutes is the only way we can maintain safety.

New Building Reception Opening Soon

We are excited to recently receive the Certificate of Occupancy for the new administration building. There are still minor works being completed around the building. We have been slowly moving furniture in and hope to open Reception in the building very soon.

Bridgette Reale Begins Maternity Leave

Last Friday we said farewell to our much-loved Junior School teacher and House Head Bridgette Reale, who has commenced her maternity leave. We look forward to meeting her baby boy very soon. Congratulations to Amy Mepstead who will be taking over as Trist House Head for the rest of 2021.

Hidden Talents Exposed

In my short time as Principal, I have discovered that Casey Grammar staff members are a very talented group. Not only are they excellent teachers, they have many hidden talents. The Head of Senior School Sport, Mrs Fern Schreuder is a great example.

During lockdown last year, Fern started a blog about lockdown with small children and the ridiculous experiences which arose. It wasn’t long before the popularity of her blog created some interest amongst publishers. Fern’s blog is now being made into a book which is due for release in May. It is a very tongue-in-cheek and funny book.

We can’t wait to see a copy in the School Library! Congratulations Fern.
