Junior School News

Reconciliation Week was an enriching experience for our Junior School community. Through a variety of engaging events, students deepened their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples' history, culture, and traditions.

During our Years 3 - 6 Indigenous Art incursion, students explored storytelling and artistic techniques, creating some remarkable pieces. Our Foundation to Year 2 incursion brought the sounds and rhythms of First Nations dance and music to life - allowing students to connect with the rich heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

A significant highlight of the week was the unveiling of artwork specially created for each House, and secured to our new arbour. This artwork stands as a lasting tribute to the spirit of reconciliation and cultural pride within our school.

Additionally, in a moving moment of unity, we held a Sorry Day Ceremony - lowering our flags to half mast to honour the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in our shared history and future.

Through these experiences, our community reflected on the importance of truth, respect, and positive relationships. Reconciliation Week strengthened our commitment to learning, listening, and embracing cultural understanding.

Sincere thanks to Mrs Riviere-Pendle, who was behind the success of this important week in the life of Casey Grammar School.

I’d like to congratulate all students who participated in Divisional Cross Country last week. We were thrilled to have five students qualify to attend the Regional Cross Country event - which will take place soon. Many thanks to Mr Batey and Mr Benham for supporting our students!

Reconciliation Week Assembly

Congratulations to 5H, Mrs Harrison, and Mrs Badar on their fantastic Reconciliation Week assembly. They acted out three different Dreamtime stories and shared about the animals featured in each story. Did you know that there is a frog that can hibernate for five years?

We also loved hearing about the various actions happening around the school. Thank you to everyone involved!
